Policies, safety &
association standards.
Official operational guidelines governing student welfare, child safeguarding, data privacy, media permissions, and dojo safety for Sahyadri Shivamogga District Sports Karate Association (SSDSKA).
Child safeguarding & welfare.
Our commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and nurturing training environment for all young martial artists.
Official Code of Conduct (Dojo Kun)
Students are expected to uphold the five maxims of the Dojo Kun: seek perfection of character, be faithful, endeavor to excel, respect others, and refrain from violent behavior.
1. Zero Tolerance for Bullying & Hazing
Karate instruction at KARATE 365 emphasizes character, humility, and mutual protection. Physical intimidation, verbal humiliation, or hazing of junior or new students is strictly prohibited. Any violation is grounds for immediate disciplinary review.
2. Physical Safety & Non-Aggression Rule
Students are explicitly taught that karate skills are meant exclusively for physical health, sports competition, and legitimate self-defence. Utilizing martial techniques for unprovoked aggression outside the dojo leads to suspension from the association.
3. Open Dojo Policy for Parents
Parents and legal guardians are welcomed and encouraged to observe their children’s training sessions. Designated seating areas are maintained at our branch locations to foster complete transparency between parents and instructors.
4. Certified Instructor Conduct
Instructors maintain professional decorum at all times. All physical adjustments made during stance correction adhere strictly to standard athletic coaching practices with student comfort and safety prioritized.
Privacy & data protection.
How personal information collected through our website and admission process is managed.
1. Scope of Information Collected
We collect only information reasonably necessary to respond to admission enquiries and manage student training records: student name, guardian name (for minors), contact telephone/WhatsApp number, optional email address, preferred branch dojo, and training program interest.
2. Private Administrative Storage
Student records, enquiry submissions, and grading results are kept confidential within secure administrative channels. We do not expose personal student information on public web pages, predictable URLs, or third-party marketing brokers.
3. No Unauthorized Commercial Use
Your contact numbers are utilized solely for communication regarding KARATE 365 class schedules, belt grading circulars, and association tournament announcements. We never sell, rent, or lease applicant records.
Photography & video consent.
Standards for capturing and publishing dojo and tournament photography.
1. Authorized Association Media
Photographs and demonstration footage published on this website are captured during authorized belt gradings, championships, and technical seminars. Media is published to celebrate athletic milestones and provide transparent insight into authentic practice.
2. Opt-Out & Media Removal
Students or parents of minor students have the right to decline or withdraw media consent at any time. If you wish to have a photograph featuring yourself or your child removed from the public website, please contact the association coordinator, and the image will be promptly taken down.
Dojo safety & hygiene rules.
Mandatory practices to prevent sports injuries and maintain high sanitary standards.
Protective Sparring Gear
Controlled sparring (Kumite) requires mandatory fist mitts, mouthguard, and groin guard for male practitioners. Sparring without safety equipment is prohibited.
Trimmed Nails & Hygiene
Finger and toe nails must be kept trimmed flush with skin to prevent accidental scratching during partner drills. Dogis must be washed regularly.
Jewelry Removal
Watches, rings, necklaces, bracelets, and metallic earrings must be removed prior to stepping onto the training mat to avoid cuts and snagging.
Pre-Existing Injuries
Students must inform their Sensei before class of any existing muscle sprains, asthma, cardiac considerations, or recent injuries so drills can be adapted safely.
Frequently asked questions.
Answers to common questions regarding admissions, schedules, equipment, and grading.
What is the minimum age to enroll in KARATE 365?
Age limits – 5+ years, no age limits
Do I need to purchase a karate uniform (Gi) before my first class?
No. New students may attend their initial trial and introductory sessions wearing comfortable athletic attire such as track pants and a t-shirt. Once enrolled, instructors will guide you on sizing and acquiring an official association Gi and patch.
How does belt grading work at KARATE 365?
Our belt curriculum follows an official 10-tier progression starting from Yellow Belt and advancing to Black Belt. Gradings are conducted periodically by certified examiners from the Sahyadri Shivamogga District Sports Karate Association (SSDSKA). Candidates must demonstrate minimum class attendance, fundamental Kihon mechanics, prescribed Kata forms, and controlled Kumite sparring.
Can adult beginners join if they have no athletic background?
Absolutely. Karate is a personal discipline rather than a sprint. Our adult batches focus on progressive flexibility, joint mobility, cardiovascular endurance, and functional self-defence at a sustainable pace suited to each individual’s physical baseline.
Are class timings identical across all three branches?
General academy training slots operate in the morning (6:30 AM – 8:00 AM) and evening (5:00 PM – 6:00 PM). However, specific batch schedules require confirmation per branch dojo. We recommend checking with our Senseis or submitting an admission enquiry to confirm your preferred branch’s active timetable.
Grievance & official enquiry.
For feedback, official tournament inquiries, child safeguarding concerns, or administrative verifications, please reach out directly to association leadership or our verified Senseis.
